Development Control - 7 September
Two quick comments:
Item 2 - Sainsbury's Worcester Park
I appreciate there are concerns from adjoining residents regarding parking, but having a Sainsbury's in Worcester Park High Street is better than having less shops in the High Street.
Item 4 - Storage Warehouse at Kimpton Road.
This seems to be a reasonable use of the site, in view of the increasing market for this sort of facility from middle-class "declutterers" following the advice of day-time TV.

The storage unit on Kimpton road went through despite the handicap of its name. Big Yellow storage gives residents two reasons why it might not be so desirable.
A fair point. I was opposite the corridor sitting in at Health Scrutiny (more will follow on that), but we all heard some cheering, which I assume was something to do with the Sainbury Application?
Actually it was the Rotherfield Road application that followed. The Sainsbury's application was passed to the dismay of the residents.
The Rotherfield Road app. had several objectors at the meeting as it was the third application. Both Eric Howell and Hamish Pollock spoke against it and I voted against it in a unanimous decision. It wasn't difficult to decide as it was barely different to the one that we rejected only a few months ago. See Scully's Blog Spot for details
I didn't comment on Rotherfield Road, but that did look like overdevelopment - especially the fact it overlooked the primary school! It did seem sensible to reject that.
